How callers agree to texts
This page explains the text messaging program run by Double R Tech LLC, for our own business line and for the businesses that use our missed-call text-back service.
When a text is sent
A text is only sent after someone calls Double R Tech, or a business that uses our text-back service, the call isn't answered, and the caller chooses to get a text by pressing 1. The text is a reply about that call. We never text numbers from a list, and we don't send marketing or promotional messages.
How callers choose to get a text
Texting is optional. When a call isn't answered, the caller hears a recorded message asking whether they'd like a text. Only callers who press 1 get a text. Callers who don't press 1 can leave a voicemail or hang up, and they are never texted. On the Double R Tech line, the message says:
Recorded message, Double R Tech
“Thanks for calling Double R Tech. Sorry we missed your call. If you'd like us to text you at this number so we can help, press 1. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime to opt out. Or stay on the line to leave a voicemail.”
Businesses that use our service play the same message with their own name in it. Pressing 1 is not required to leave a voicemail or to get a call back.
The first text
Right after the caller presses 1, they get one text confirming their request. Every first text names the business, gives the rates and frequency notice, and explains HELP and STOP. On the Double R Tech line it reads:
First text, Double R Tech
“Double R Tech: Thanks for calling! You asked us to text you about your call. What can we help you with? Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
How often you'll get texts
One text after you press 1. After that, texts are only replies to messages you send. Message frequency varies with your conversation.
Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping texts and getting help
- Reply STOP at any time and the texts end. You'll get one message confirming you've opted out.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at merikrothrock@doublertechllc.com or (913) 515-1698.
Records we keep
For every text conversation we keep the caller's number, the time of the call, a record that the caller pressed 1 to ask for a text, and the messages sent and received, so we can show when and why each text was sent.
